It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly blog meme hosted by Book Journey. You review the list you read the week before and include the books you have plans to finish this week. You can post your blog link to her site to share your reading list as well as learn about other books you might want to add from the other bloggers.

Books Finished Last Week:
Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
Atlantia by Ally Condie
The Insider's Guide to Getting an Agent by Lori Perkins

Raasch's debut fantasy was AMAZING and Ally Condie's latest novel did not grab my attention. I couldn't stand the main character or her constant whishy-washy feelings. Review for Snow was posted last week and you can expect to see Atlantia's up this Wednesday.

Since I want to keep you guys updated with the writing process, I read this quick nonfiction read on Friday. It's an older guide (1999) but it's perfect for understanding the writer/agent relationship, how to land one, and the process of working with an agent from the time you sign that contract to when the novel is published. If Perkins could write a newer edition for the digital age I would love it!

Books To Read This Week:
Legend by Marie Lu
Prodigy by Marie Lu

As a dystopian lover, I feel bad saying I haven't yet read this trilogy. Everyone has told me it was great (but they said that about other books as well and they were wrong!) but I think this series is really cool. I'm super excited to start it!

What books are you reading this week?

  2. Thanks so much! I loved my fantasy reads, but I'm so excited to be back on the dystopian track for a little while. I'm hoping to add some more writing nonfiction in there as well :)

Thank you for your lovely comment!

  4. Hope you enjoy the Legend series. I liked it a lot, but wasn't so impressed with The Elites.

    1. I've heard that a lot about the Elites. It's definitely disappointing to hear, but I love Legend!
