It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly blog meme hosted by Book Journey. You review the list you read the week before and include the books you have plans to finish this week. Most bloggers have adorable original blog photos, but because I'm a newbie to the game, I'm using the image straight from Book Journey (so no photo design credit to me).
Read This Past Week:
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
This novel was an amazing read, and I recommend it to anyone, regardless of whether they love dystopia or not. My second favorite YA dystopian of all time could be this series right here.
To Be Read This Week:
Avoidables by Rachel Medhurst
I was asked by the author to write a review about this novella, and so far it sounds really interesting. It's a new YA dystopian novel that debuted this year, and you can find the first book in the series for free on Amazon. With it being so much shorter than The Darkest Minds, you'll find a review of this book later this week.
Unfortunately, I'm flying on Monday so I won't be able to check out any books until then from my awesome local library. I'll be checking out more things on Amazon and its digital downloads until then!
What are y'all reading this week?
Thanks for the Darkest Minds recommendation-will pass the titles on to my students!
ReplyDeleteThat's great! It's perfect for YA aged readers because there's not a lot of romance or gore.
DeleteThank you for your lovely comment!
Both are unfamiliar titles to me, thank you for sharing them Amber.
ReplyDeleteOf course! If you read them, I hope you enjoy.
DeleteThank you for commenting! :)
I just finished the Ginnie West Adventures series (4 books) and I am moving on to Love's First Flames, a prequel to Banished Love.
ReplyDeleteThose both look great! Especially the Banished Love series, I'll have to check it out.
DeleteThanks for your lovely comment! :)
I've added The Darkest Minds to my list. The premise reminds me of The Young Elites by Marie Liu. I was sad because it didn't live up to her Legend series.
ReplyDeleteShe's the next author on my list to start. I was wanting to read both, so hopefully both live up to my expectations. I loved Darkest Minds, and I hope everyone else who reads it does too!
